Social Quests are a way for you to both gamify and incentivize interactions with all of your social media accounts! If you have yet to connect your social media accounts with Returning.AI, check out this article to learn how.
Once all your accounts have been connected, head over to the 'Social Quests' tab in your community settings.
Under each social media tab, toggle on 'Enable Socials' to turn on social quests for the respective social media platform.
Configuring Rewards
Once your quests have been enabled, you will be able to configure the rewards for each action taken by community members on your social media posts for each of your social platforms. The social activities vary by platform, but the general list of support actions are as follows
Connect Account: Reward for linking a social media account to the community.
Follow Account: Reward for following your social media account.
Like Post: Reward for liking one of your posts.
Comment on Post: Reward for commenting on one of your posts.
Share/Repost Post: Reward for sharing or reposting your post.
Comment on Video: Reward for commenting on one of your YouTube videos.
You can configure the amount of XP and Coins earned by each action. You can also adjust the maximum number of rewardable actions allowed for each post. Once you have assigned your values, click on 'Save Changes'
Configuring Comment Criteria
As a way to prevent users from commenting one-word comments or random responses as a way to gain points, you can configure your comment criteria to ensure that each comment posted is of a certain quality.
By configuring your comment criteria, you can ensure that only comments following your specific set of rules will result in members earning rewards.
The criteria you can configure are as follows:
Minimum Word Count: Decide how long the comment has to be before it qualifies for reward earning.
Specific Word(s) to be included in the comment: Decide what word(s) has to be included in the comment before it qualifies for reward earning. Seperate each word or phrase by pressing enter. Choose how exactly these words should appear in the comment.
Contains All: The comment has to contain all of the listed words to qualify
Contains Any: The comment has to contain at least one of the listed words to qualify
Exact Match: The comment has to be exactly the same as specified, with no added words or variations.
Role Permissions
Role permissions let you specify exactly who can access your social quests on each platform, giving you precise control over participation. By default, all community members can view and engage with your quests without any additional configuration. To restrict access to certain users, simply click the plus button next to ‘Roles or Tags,’ then choose the roles, tags, or individual users who should be able to see and complete the social quests for that specific social media platform.
Enabling Penalties
Penalties ensure that community members do not farm points by simply undoing their social actions. Enabling penalties will allow you to deduct points from users who delete comments, unlike posts, or unfollow your account.
To enable penalties, locate the action you wish to penalize in your gamification settings and toggle on its penalty option. When a penalty is applied, members will lose XP and Coins equal to a multiple of the original reward amount, so if the reward was 10 XP and the penalty multiplier is set to 2, they’ll lose 20 XP when penalized.
Displayed Post
For each social media platform, Returning.AI lets you control which posts appear in your community feed. You can opt for the automatic setting, which always shows the eight most recent posts, or switch to the custom mode to handpick specific posts. Custom mode is especially useful when you want to highlight particular content and drive engagement on the posts that matter most to your community.
When your social media feed is set to automatic, Returning.AI will update the displayed posts every hour without any further action. If you’d rather control when new content appears, you can click the 'Refresh Posts' button at any time to pull in the latest updates immediately.
To enable custom mode, toggle on 'Custom', and click on 'Select Posts'. Look for your posts by filtering them by date, and click the checkbox of the posts you would like to select.
