Banners are targeted pop-up ads designed to deliver specific messages to community members. Based on predefined rules, banners can be configured to appear in particular channels, to particular users, and during a specific timeframe. This makes them a powerful tool for sharing announcements, promotions, or important updates with select groups. Banners also allow you to create multiple messages, schedule their deployment, and run them simultaneously for maximum efficiency.
To set up a banner, navigate to the Banner page in your community settings and click the plus button to start.
Content & Style
Craft your message and style it to match your brand. Set the look and wording of your banner.
Banner Title: Give your banner a clear and identifiable title.
Banner Message: Craft your message and decide if the sender’s icon should appear.
Style: Personalize the banner’s colors and positioning.
Call to Action: Add a button linking to a URL for user interaction.
Sender: Choose whether to display a specific user’s icon in the banner.
Scheduling
Determine the time period in which your banner will be actively displayed to users. Schedule banners to go live and offline automatically, ensuring smooth and timely messaging for your offers or promotions.
Start Sending: Set the date and time for the banner to go live.
Stop Sending: Determine when the banner will go offline.
Display Rules
Decide where your banner will be displayed and to who. Control display rules on a simpler channel and role level or a more in-depth level with advanced display conditions.
Channels: Select the channel(s) where the banner will be displayed.
Roles: Specify the role(s) that should see the banner.
Advanced Display Conditions: Target your banners at specific user groups by combining multiple rules and conditions. Set conditions users must meet before banners appear, and define the conditions users have to meet before banners should stop showing.
Display Limits
Choose how many times your banner will display to users.
Max Display Count: Set how many times a banner can be shown to each user.
Display Frequency: Choose whether the banner shows constantly or only within a set number of days.
CTA Button Click Limit: Configure your CTA button to always display or stop showing after a set number of clicks.
These options allow you to design a banner that effectively delivers your message to the right audience. Banners are an effective way to promote key events or offers within your community. They can also share coupon codes, announce promotions, or spotlight rewards for top contributors. Whether you refine them later or activate them right away, banners help ensure your message reaches the intended audience efficiently.
Managing your Banners
You can create and run multiple banners simultaneously in your community. The main Banner page provides an overview of all your active banners, including their titles, the channels they are set to appear in, the roles they target, their scheduled start and end dates, and their current status. Additionally, you can track the performance of each banner by viewing metrics such as the number of times it has been viewed and the number of URL clicks it has generated.
To make changes or remove a banner, simply click the pencil icon to edit or the trash bin icon to delete it.
